Date: Tuesday, May 15th, 9:30am – 11:00am
Environmental change, shared socio-economic pathways and governance arrangements create a risk nexus that links water stress, disaster risk and urban growth with internal displacement and forced migration. This side event will discuss how recent advances in the quantification and modelling of interdependent risks opens opportunities to inform future development in a way that strengthens sustainability and resilience. In particular, the event will discuss how risk metrics can be used to strengthen infrastructure resilience, to estimate risks and provide early warning of internal displacement and to inform public investment.
