Event Summary
Organization: Kartoza, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, GFDRR
Description
Date: Tuesday, May 15, 9:00 – 13:00
Room: Galeria de Rectores
This will be a session for creators and users of DRR tools and data to learn of existing efforts, and to explore new possibilities, aimed at fostering an open environment for exchanging data and metadata and promoting opportunities to increase software interoperability. We would like to nurture the growth of a broad and open ecosystem of tools and data that can be made available to DRR Practitioners. We need your help! Come to this session and share the work you are doing in developing DRR tools and data and meet others who are working in the same space.
This side event will have four components: 1) an overview of the data schemas for hazard, exposure and vulnerability that were developed as part of the DFID/GFDRR Challenge Fund; 2) a demonstration of a data explorer that is being developed that can access data that follows the data schema; 3) Ignite presentations by people and teams that are developing DRR tools and data; and 4) discussions aimed at enhancing collaborations.
